The Amazon Fire HD8 doesn't use an Android operating system; rather on Amazon's own Fire operating system known to Amazon products.

As the Amazon Fire HD8 uses the Amazon App Store, some applications you may be able to download on other devices using Google Play or the Apple App Store may not be available on this tablet. If you are unsure, you can check out the various applications the Amazon App Store supports by browsing online :)
