Hi Sharon, yes you can attach the headboard to a bed base.However the hardware is not provided for this and needs to be sourced locally by the buyer/

Is there a bit of an overhang for the queen headboard?
One of the sides of my bed is up against the wall. The bed measures 152cm in width. Would I be better off ordering a double headboard?

Hi Ryan, if you go for the queen the width will be 157cm so yes there will be a bit of an overhang, however, if you go for the double then it will fall short by almost 10cm , as its only 142 wide.
