wendy smith commented over 2 years ago. Hi, can you please confirm that these masks meet the standard they claim to meet ?
They seem awfully cheap compared to others. Apparently there are lots of copies on the market these days.
It would be good to have the seller/ Grabone have documentation from a local agency that they have been tested and that they are genuine. Thank you
Viv Nelson commented over 2 years ago. Lots of people have posted comments that these masks look like fakes and don't meet the NIOSH standard that they claim to. Go onto the NIOSH website and check yourself. But the comments keep getting taken down and Grab One is doing nothing to address what looks like false advertising and selling scam products. Shame on you.
Roger Palmer commented over 2 years ago. I hope Grabone did actually address this with the supplier and do the necessary checks, otherwise just taking down comments that may warn people of the possibility that something is not okay is reprehensible.
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Since the same advertisement is showing today I don't think GRABONE has taken any action. I notice that my question about the legitimacy of these masks has also been removed from the Discussion Board. I am going to email Martin Packer who is the sole trader running this company and see what he has to say. I have contacted GrabOne via email but I think a couple of other avenues are Consumer NZ and Fair Go and see what they have to say..
janine carney commented over 2 years ago. Good job Sharon and good luck
wendy smith commented over 2 years ago. That explains why my comments are not here on the discussion board. I was concerned due to the cost of these masks. The old saying if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
It’s so important that these masks are genuine otherwise there will be a lot of people wearing them thinking they are doing the right thing to protect them and others from Covid. Grabone there has to be some ownership here from you.
wendy smith commented over 2 years ago. My apologies. I have now found my post from yesterday. However no response from Grabone
Simon Chadwick commented over 2 years ago. Just to add some clearer air (pun intended) to the misinformation:
1. the manufacturer name is 3Q SAN QI, aka Rizhao Sanqi Medical & Health Articles Co., Ltd.
2. MODEL no: SQ100Gs
3. NIOSH listing here: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/respsource3surgicaln95.html
4. Comparison vendor site: https://n95instock.com/sanqi-100gs-surgical-mask-niosh-n95
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Response to Simon

I had spent quite a lot of time looking at the manufacturers information and noted that their specifications of the 3Q S100Gs N95 mask provided a head strap. These masks on GrabOne being sold by Proidux have ear loops. If you google how to pick a fake N95 mask… the one constant is that an N95 will NEVER have ear loops. Which is why I asked whether these were authentic? And I’m still asking that question.
Simon Chadwick commented over 2 years ago. Comment to Sharon:
I think your concern about the straps is valid, so I checked further by searching online. Try this website for a better, more professional set of product shots and NIOSH description:
https://singhiaphin.online/catagory/new-arrivals/3q-surgical-n95-mask-detail
The Grabone product illustration is obviously from the exact same product shot set on this other site - same plastic head. And on this other site, the straps around the head are visible.
So your concern is not that 3Q manufactures valid N95 masks - it does, according to NIOSH. Your concern is that these 3Q masks on Grabone are counterfeit versions of 3Q masks. Thats the same concern for any branded products on Grabone (or any website).
janine carney commented over 2 years ago. Simon Chadwick, in your opinion, are these legitimate masks?
Louise from GrabOne Store commented over 2 years ago. Hello everyone!

Thank you for your questions and messages!

We can confirm that prior to this offer going onto GrabOne, we have checked all the paperwork to ensure that this product is compliant and safe for our customers to use which is our top priority. :)

Thank you and have a great day!
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Message to Simon
Its not just the photo in this advertisement that shows ear loops - the description also says that it has ear loops. Forbes Magazine in its article how to spot a fake mask says that all N95's have a headstrap and the CDC has an area dedicated to fake masks and counterfeit letters of authentication. It also says the same thing - N95's do not have ear loops.
I have emailed Rizhao Sanqui Medical (the manufacturer) and sent a copy of this advertisement to ask if this is one of their legitimate products.
wendy smith commented over 2 years ago. Thanks Sharon. Like you I am concerned, having lived in Asia companies can produce products which look legit until the finer details such as materials etc. are broken down. We have known ID’s complete with hologram copied and it would be very hard to spot the fake. It’s the price these masks are being offered at has raised the concern for me.

Tomorrow I will call the commerce commission and ask if they can look into this.
Simon Chadwick commented over 2 years ago. Grabone has made the effort to comment so thats as close to an endorsement as you are going to get. I think you have to draw your own conclusions on this one. My interest was to buy a 3Q respirator mask and this one, counterfeit or not, was not the 3Q model I want.
John Atkinson commented over 2 years ago. these masks are listed as N9 approved on a CDC website...
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/n95list1sect2-r.html

I also wondered, but will get them and take a look
John Atkinson commented over 2 years ago. oops I meant to say N95 in previous post
Heather Morris commented over 2 years ago. I am happy with Grab Ones assurance and I appreciate the research being carried out by Simon Chadwick and Sharon Johnston.
I am in a high risk group and would not have bought them if I didn't have confidence in them.
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Forbes Magazine has an article on how to spot a fake N95 mask. So does the CDC. Google ;how to spot a fake N95 mask. The N95 will never have ear loops nor is it made for children. If the advertisement says it has ear loops and/or is for children then it is possibly counterfeit. Also note that the Grabone Advertisement changed the details today - from ear loops to head loops. The N95 should have 2 straps that go round the head. This provides a better fit. Hope this helps.
Louise from GrabOne Store commented over 2 years ago. Thank you everyone for your posts! :)
Paul Adams commented over 2 years ago. Anyone in doubt about being mislead by merchant and/or Grab one could consider making a complaint to Commerce Commission

Chris Maguire commented over 2 years ago. There should be an approval number on the filtering respirator and "NIOSH" must be spelled correctly. Both the mask and its packaging should be labeled "NIOSH-approved,"

Do these comply?
Stephen Mangin commented over 2 years ago. Hi, more thing to talk about, I thought all N95 masks are made in the USA only?
KN95 masks are made in China only?
Am I right or not?
Cheers
Stephen.
Chris Maguire commented over 2 years ago. To Stephen Mangin
the following will fully explain the differences:

Donya from GrabOne Store commented over 2 years ago. Hello all, thank you for collectively expressing your opinions and feedbacks regarding this deal!

mathew whitehead commented over 2 years ago. Hi grab one thank you for the update on compliance. Sharon has gone a bit quiet
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Hi Matthew - a lengthy email to Proidux (the Seller) AKA Sole Trader - Martin Sean Packer, elicited a response that the team from Grab One would reply to my enquiries. Apart from the comments they have posted there has been no email and nothing to convince me that these masks are legitimate. I emailed the Chinese Manufacturer but will be very surprised if they reply so have passed the matter on to the Commerce Commission.
mathew whitehead commented over 2 years ago. You say there is nothing to convince you that they are legitimate, but you were easily convinced that they are not. You are coming across as a busy body which is not cool. Iv bought some so I will let you know how they are
Chris Maguire commented over 2 years ago. MW - I have absolutely no idea if these are shonkey or not, they may well be totally legit (yah), but well, I for one am rather grateful for someone taking the time to question & investigate items that may have a profound effect on my health - I must say, you've added absolutely nothing to the discussion except compliment GrabOne, you are coming across as a "sellers stooge", which is not cool
mathew whitehead commented over 2 years ago. CM… no not sellers stooge! If you buy an item then you do your own research, if your happy, you then buy an item.. If your not happy then don’t buy and move on!! . Over 3k ppl have bought this product so don’t try and scare monger those people.. for all we know yourself and ‘Sharon’ are doing hippy twirls in the government grounds for the last 7 days as anti vaxers.. Sharon has not supplied me with any evidence to suggest otherwise and you are both acting with negativity towards something we are being told is protecting people.. I however feel satisfied with my purchase. Good look at the beehive this week
Chris Maguire commented over 2 years ago. MW - it's a shame that you've chosen to use this discussion forum to throw rather childish comments - the forum has, until your comment, been used by people, for exactly it's correct purpose, and in a civil manner.
I am led further to believe, due to the nature & rather extraordinary & indeed vitriolic attack on both myself & SJ, that you are indeed connected in some way with the seller.

Oh - and as an FYI to your assertions, no, I am not at Parliament Grounds - and in any case they haven't been there 7 days either, so, another inaccuracy.
Dillon Faafou commented over 2 years ago. Hi all,

Just messaging again to ensure everyone has seen our messages above.

Here at GrabOne, compliance and safety for our customers is very important to us.

We can confirm that prior to the N95 masks going onto our GrabOne site, compliance checks were completed to ensure that this product is compliant and safe for our customers to use.

The N95 deal on-site at present from Proidux is N95 compliant with NIOSH-42CFR84.
The 2nd image on the deal shows that they do not have ear loops which are tricky to see in the first image.

If you have any questions please feel free to let us know

Thank you
grant read commented over 2 years ago. I'm not involved here, except as a potential buyer, but its a bit disturbing that so may negative comments can be posted by people who do not even bother to use google.

The model # is clearly displayed as SQ100Gs
A few minutes with Google will get you to
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/N95list1sect2-r.html
which shows the approval # is 84A-9323

So what's the issue?
Shame on you?
Yes, indeed!
Roger Palmer commented over 2 years ago. Grant Read....good work. Thank you.
Chris Maguire commented over 2 years ago. Strange as it might seem to GW - yes, we do know how to use a computer ....

Perhaps have a look at:
https://nzohs.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Disposable-respirators.-Checklist-to-ensure-your-respirator-will-protect-you..pdf

What I see from most of the comments are some people doing exactly what they are told to do by the Government - to not accept at face value & verify, if verification cannot be obtained then report it - following simple instructions issued by the Government .... gee, who could have any problem with that .....
Personally, I think this conversation has run it's course - buy, don't buy - verify, don't verify ... totally up to the individual - but people should not be vilified by others online for doing so.
Wendy Goodricke commented over 2 years ago. yes would be really good to know. I assumed they were genuine and bought 10x. Was going to buy 20x but the freight doubled which is a wrought. But nowhere near as much of an issue if these masks are not genuine.
Olivia French commented over 2 years ago. Thank you everyone for your posts and feedback! :)
John Atkinson commented over 2 years ago. I received 2 boxes of these. The first mask I put on the elastic lower strap pulled away from the mask. Not impressed. Gave a few to son. First mask he put on same thing happened.. hmm
Louise from GrabOne Store commented over 2 years ago. Hi John, thanks for your post! Please contact the GrabOne helpdesk here for assistance - we are unable to see a ticket from you regarding this issue. Thanks! :)
Jim White commented over 2 years ago. Delivery has taken ages. don’t buy if you neddvin a hurry
sharon johnston commented over 2 years ago. Hi Jim, any idea where the masks were shipped from? I've found identical masks on Alibaba (Chinese Website and another site in Brunei). And can you define ages - just a guestimate will do - thanks.
Olivia French commented over 2 years ago. Hi Jim, thank you for your discussion board post! Someone from the team has been in touch with your query via our HelpDesk! Thanks
renee robinson commented over 2 years ago. Who do we talk with about this product not arriving?
Olivia French commented over 2 years ago. Hi Renee, thank you for your discussion board comment! A member of our team will be in touch with you via our HelpDesk to further assist you with your query! Thanks
Douglas Goh commented over 2 years ago. Question - the description says postage will be $6.50 extra per item for urban delivery, or pay $10.50 extra per item for rural delivery.

If I buy 2 items and ship to the same address. Does that mean I had to pay twice for delivery?

Does the vendor sends the items twice? It just doesn't make sense.
